The team here at Boo Media warmly welcomes you to the first issue of Your Cotswold Family and we hope you enjoy the variety of subjects we have chosen for you.
Your Cotswold Family is an independently published title, created by a dedicated team of local experts who are passionate about the Cotswolds and enhancing the lives of the families that live here.
We are proud to deliver a launch issue filled with informative content, inspiring ideas, real stories, competitions and reader offers, as well as useful information on the best places to visit, a selection of the most outstanding Cotswold schools, unique local shops and much more!
The quality and range of content is due to the contributions of several wonderful writers and photographers assisting our small, busy team behind the scenes.
Fabulous Baker Brother, Tom Herbert, shares two of his favourite autumn recipes – we just had to try them out and suggest you do too!
On a serious note, Emma Bradshaw reports on the urgent need to address what some experts have labelled ‘Nature Deficit Disorder’ among today’s children, and it’s parents and grandparents like us, who enjoyed a childhood in the great outdoors, who have a crucial role to play.
Elsewhere in this issue, Emma Mercer looks at the importance of sleep for each member of the family; while Sally Grindley took time out of her busy schedule to chat to us about her life as a children’s author. We’ve loved spending time with the youngsters from across the Cotswolds: from the newest residents in our ‘Welcome to the World’ feature to the delightful models in our autumn fashion shoots – we’ve had lots of fun, as the results bear witness!
Finally, now that the summer is officially over, we mustn’t forget that autumn also brings a whole host of family fun. So, if the prospect of the weekday alarm going off at the same time for another three months fills you with dread, making the most of
evenings and weekends with the family is the best antidote. We have pages of autumn-inspired craft, baking, interiors and travel, as well as our pick of the region’s diary dates.
Whatever you do this autumn, enjoy it!
