Families Gloucestershire – September / October 2013

Welcome to the Sept/Oct issue of Families Gloucestershire!

It’s September and, having failed to master the ability to make time stand still, my son is now in junior school. Over the holidays he seems to have gained years. He’s grown in independence, firm in his belief in what he likes (David Walliams books, super heroes and climbing) and what he doesn’t (broccoli) and a wonderful new-found sense of adventure.

In this Back to School issue, whether you are nervously waving your little one off at the school gates for the first time, or starting to consider your child’s secondary school options, or perhaps would like to understand a little more about what the proposed changes to the National Curriculum, our Education section has something for you.

Also…..local events to encourage your child’s reading, tips to help your child overcome shyness and what’s on for families this autumn including, if you like to plan ahead, Half Term and Halloween activities.

Have a great autumn!
