Hello and welcome to the April 2014 edition of The South Barnsley Crown.
Well it looks like the weather is finally taking a turn for the better, which means it’s time to get out of the house and enjoy it! We have Easter just around the corner, even if you are not religious, it’s time to get together as a family.
I’d like to welcome on board our new advertisers as well as welcome back some from previous issues and as always I urge you to visit our great businesses, it’s always a great help to us our advertisers if you mention us!
In the meantime I’d like to wish you a Happy Easter and I will look forward to writing to you next month!

Hello and welcome to the 6th issue of the South Barnsley Crow and half a year since we issued our first magazine. Things have changed since October with more and more businesses getting on board with us and reporting some excellent responses, likewise, we have had some great feedback from our readers.
We have some great articles lined up this month with the all new Fitzwilliam Arms opening its 60 seat dining room and revealing the improvements of the popular Elsecar pub. Along with The Fitz we have some more new businesses being featured in this issue which I would like to welcome on board and welcome back many of our regular advertisers including Elizabeth Eden LDS who have some great offers lined up for you!
We’ve also decided to extend our photo competition from February so get your pictures in! Even if you don’t know the first thing about photography.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy this month’s magazine and I’ll look forward to writing to you in April!

I’d like to welcome back all readers, some old, some new, to the February edition of the South Barnsley Crow.
It doesn’t seem two minutes since Christmas and already we are well into the new year. We have some great businesses come onboard with this month’s magazine and I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome them as well as welcome back some of our previous advertisers!
I’ve spent a lot of time talking with local people and businesses about the magazine and have had some great comments, which me and the team appreciate more than anything. It
means a lot to know that our local businesses are benefiting and I cannot stress more the
importance of supporting them, so please support them the best you can!
Speaking of previous advertisers, Elizabeth Eden have moved and joined forces with local hairdresser, Dawn Slater, but you probably already knew that from the front page!
I’d like to wish them the best of luck in their new venture and hope that you will pop in and
see the fresh new salon and meet Lisa, Dawn and Georgina.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy the magazine and I will look forward to writing to
you in March.

Well here we are, at the beginning of a brand new year!
I hope all our readers, advertisers, distributors and production team had a great Christmas and New Year!
First off, you may notice that this issue is a few pages less than previous ones, but don’t be alarmed! This is mainly due to quieter times this time of the year. Nevertheless we have some great articles lined up for you and I would like to welcome on board some new businesses as well as welcoming back ones from previous issues.
Danny MacDonald at The Floor Trader is presenting an excellent competition, which means one lucky person can win a full house package of flooring! (see page 18). Danny told me “it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m offering the highest quality, certainly not an economy package!”. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Liam Fountain writing an excellent piece of Barnsley Football Club, which you will find at the end of the magazine.
This issue we are also focusing on New Year’s resolutions including a Spotlight on local slimmer Lozzy Dobson who lost more weight than she weighs now, which is a phenomenal achievement! Maybe you will be inspired to start getting fitter or kick a bad habit and make 2014 your year!
For now, take care and I will look forward to writing to you next month.

I would like to take this opportunity to …
Wish our readers, advertisers, contributors, distributors and the Magazine production team a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I would also like to welcome on board some new businesses and welcome back ones from our October and November issues.
Before I get started I would like to apologise for the mistakes with the puzzle in the November issue and we have taken steps to ensure it will not happen again.
Overall we have had a good reception of the previous issue and have now moved on to a
Christmassy theme. We have some great articles lined up including an extremely relevant column from Oliver Wright at Billy’s Hill Farm Shop for you to browse as you wait for Santa to squeeze down your chimney, perhaps even leave one out with his milk for him to flick through while he takes a breather!
We have some great plans for next year and will be looking at incorporating a New Year’s
resolution theme, whether you want to lose weight or stop smoking, we will look at including something for you!
Please don’t forget to ‘Crow about the Crow!’ and tell our advertisers that you have seen them in the magazine or if our magazine has influenced you to visit or speak to them as this is a great help to us and our advertisers!
Again I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I will write to you again in 2014!
Hello and welcome back to the South Barnsley Crow Magazine.
I would like to introduce you to the second issue of the magazine and welcome back
the many advertisers that are came on board with us in the first issue. As the magazine has gained some publicity and our promises have been put into a physical format, more businesses have got involved and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome and thank our previous, returning and current
I have had some great feedback from readers and our advertisers and will definitely continue to expand and improve the magazine as the months go on. Our excellent distribution team has worked hard getting the magazines to you and hardly any
problems were met for the first ‘run’.
This month we have some great articles lined up that will bridge the gap between Bonfire Night, Halloween and Christmas, from Hair and Beauty Academies to clubs, there’s something to capture everyone’s interest.
As I am writing this, the long nights have made themselves known and winter is
moving ever closer, which means it will soon be time to start preparing for the festive season. Our magazine will also take on a Christmas theme in December and will feature more of our great local businesses.
I hope you will enjoy reading this issue and find it as good or better than the previous October issue!
