Age UK Hoot Magazine – Summer 2013

Welcome to our Summer edition of HOOT.

This quarter’s edition includes a profile of one of our Home from Hospital team members, Doreen Fletcher. Doreen Fletcher explains more about the service and why she is so passionate about the work she and the rest of the team do.

We also have a focus on our day services.

Based in Cheltenham and Gloucester they provide a variety of activities for older people with a range of interests and abilities.

If you think you or someone you know or care for would benefit please do get in touch to find out more. The service includes transport to and from our centres and we aim to provide a service tailored to individual needs. We also have information about where you can get advice on planning to pay for care costs, a footcare event in Tewkesbury and active balance exercise classes in various venues around Cheltenham.

Find out too how you can help us by getting involved in our annual ‘Big Knit’ fundraising campaign or by becoming a Trustee.Other articles feature a recent ‘Dementia Adventure’ event and news about our Rural Ageing Campaign in partnership with Age UK nationally.

Enjoy the summer!
